Our team works relentlessly to make DCTO Campus a safe and happy place.
Kiran Foundation runs a mother-child education program that is truly empowering and is rooted in the awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing. We nurture mothers and caregivers along with their children, and build safe and happy spaces where they are free to grow and flourish together. We develop positive habits in children from a young age, with the aim to nurture them into kinder, more mindful individuals.
Kiran is a concept which was brought to life like a new born baby, and nurtured with feelings of pure love and passion from a mother’s heart. This idea was conceptualized without any economics or timelines in mind, but rather, it carries the endless depth and wisdom of life itself.
With an aim to bridge the gap that splits the society into segments, Kiran Ibtedai School was established in 2006, with the integral support of the Khatri Family, Haji Nazir Baloch and Sohrab Darzada. After studying from Kiran Ibtedai School, children were places into mainstream schools around Karachi, and Kiran supported them through this journey. This became the first mother-child preschool of its kind, where children, at risk of being disenfranchised by adverse-childhood experiences, and their mothers, who went through severe domestic violence, were given a safe and nurturing environment to heal into well-rounded empathetic individuals. This pioneer preschool program made it mandatory for mothers to educate themselves alongside their children.
The Mothers’ Education Program is now called “Nafeesa Forum”, named after one of the Kiran mothers who passed away in 2011. This program guides and grooms mothers to become more aware and empowered.
Our aim is to nurture ambassadors of change who believe in love and compassion, and who lead the world towards a brighter, more peaceful future.
